Game Overview

Reversi is a turn-based strategy board game about flipping discs and finishing with more discs than the other player. Place a disc so one or more opposing discs sit between it and another disc of your color. The enclosed line changes to your color, which can open one area of the board while closing another. Many players know Reversi as an Othello game, but the same simple rule creates a deep positioning problem.

Every turn changes the legal moves that follow. An early capture may add discs but give the other player access to a stronger line. A corner matters because a disc placed there cannot be flipped. Edges can limit movement, while open areas preserve choices for later turns. You need to weigh the number of discs gained against the positions that move creates.

The match develops from open placement into a crowded fight for mobility and stable territory. A move can trap several discs at once, yet a large flip does not guarantee a winning position. Watch the corners, protect useful edges, and leave yourself more than one route when the board begins to fill. No fixed sequence solves every match because the opponent changes the board after each turn.

Choose Reversi if you want a strategy board game where corner discs cannot be flipped or a turn-based board game about flipping discs. The rules take little time to learn, while the changing board gives each match a new problem in planning, risk, and space.
